1. Feedback and new information

By registering to gain access to the data and information provided by the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group online tool for crocodile survey information you agree to contribute any new or otherwise relevant crocodile survey that you may have available to you in the format specified. Such contributions should be free of restrictions. Contributions may be made by clicking ‘Add a Survey’ on the Home Page.

2. Citation

Users of this database agree to provide full acknowledgement and citation in any materials or publications which make use of the data. The citation details are as follows:

3. Copyright

This site contains copyrighted material and/or other proprietary information provided by external agents which is protected by intellectual property agreements and copyright laws and regulations worldwide. Hence, the information herein provided can only be used by you for educational and research purposes and cannot be copied, redistributed or published unless the contrary is expressly stated. Any use primarily intended for commercial advantage is strictly prohibited.

4. Warranty

This online tool providing information on crocodile surveys is provided to you ‘as is’, and no warranty of any kind is given as to its completeness or accuracy, nor do we make any commitment to ensure that the information is kept up to date. All warranties, representation and conditions, express or implied, are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. You agree that you download and make use of the material made available through this online tool entirely at your own risk. You hereby waive and release the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group, IUCN, UNEP and WCMC 2000 from any liability whatsoever, wherever and howsoever arising in connection with any use of the online tool. You agree that this waiver and release is effective in any and every jurisdiction in the world. You agree that IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group, IUCN, UNEP and WCMC 2000 will not be liable on any grounds (including without limitation negligence, strict liability or under any other legal theory) for any loss or damage (direct or indirect) incurred by you or any third party as a result of the use by you or any third party of the online tool or any Derivative Works. You also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group, IUCN, UNEP and WCMC 2000 in respect of any loss or damage (direct or indirect) suffered by any third party as a result of any use by that third party of any materials provided by the online tool or Derivative Works published by you. Without limitation to the above, any damage occurring to computer systems as a result of attempts to download information from the online tool data is entirely your own responsibility.

5. Disclaimer on frontiers and national boundaries

The geographic designations in this online tool do not represent an opinion by the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group, IUCN, UNEP or WCMC 2000 concerning the legal status of any country, territory or area, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or barriers.

6. No grant of intellectual property rights

Neither UNEP-WCMC nor IUCN assert any intellectual property rights in the data that is made available for inclusion in this online tool. All intellectual property rights in the database itself are the property of UNEP and IUCN. No rights in the materials are granted to you by virtue of these Terms and Conditions or as a result of any use by you of the materials.

7. Dispute resolution, law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this download and the subsequent use of this online tool shall be settled by amicable negotiation between you and the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group. Should attempts at amicable negotiation fail, any such dispute shall, upon request by either you or the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group, be referred to arbitration in accordance with the UNCITRAL arbitration rules then prevailing.

8. Communication

9. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
